Security at Indian Airports
The govt is taking very serious steps to secure the airports at Delhi , Mumbai , Chennai and Bangalore.
In total, there are more than 334 (2002 est.) civilian airports in India - 238 with paved runways and 108 with unpaved runways. The airlines connect more than 80 cities across India. The Mumbai-Delhi air corridor was ranked 6th by the Official Airline Guide in 2007 among the world’s busiest routes.
The Indira Gandhi International Airport and the Chatrapati Shivaji International Airport handle more than half of the air traffic in South Asia. Besides these airports several other domestic airports are located in India.
More than 20 international airports are located within the Republic of India. These include:
* Bengaluru International Airport, Bangalore
* Calicut International Airport, Kozhikode
* Chatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai
* Chennai International Airport, Chennai
* Cochin International Airport, Cochin
* Coimbatore Airport, Coimbatore
* Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport, Nagpur
* Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi
* Mangalore International Airport, Mangalore
* Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport, Kolkata
* Raja Sansi International Airport, Amritsar
* Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad
* Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, Ahmedabad

* Pune International Airport, Pune
The govt is taking very serious steps to secure the airports at Delhi , Mumbai , Chennai and Bangalore but what about the rest of the airports across India . If the terrorists have to Hijack the plane then why should they only do it from only these 4 airports , they can do it from any of these 238 airports . Who will ensure security of the other airports .. Can we get away from terrorists attack by securing only these 4 airports .. The people sitting at the govt should be sensible enough to think about it .. I still fail to understand what kind of people are running our country ..
Today terrorists are well trained with all the Hi-Tech stuff .. They are not fools .. These guys are very well equipped .. They are not junk of fools who will not know bout other Airports across India .. What this govt is doing i fail to understand that ?
Lets hope and wish that the govt and the Intelligence agencies will think in this direction and do the arrangements to secure other Airports also ..
