The testimonies of these victims is part of the clinching evidence against Qasab, put forth by the Mumbai police to establish his role in the attack, as the bullets recovered from their bodies match those fired from Qasab’s AK-47.

Court rejects plea for deferring cross exam of 26/11 witnesses

A special court hearing the 26/11 case today expressed displeasure over defence lawyer Abbas Kazmi seeking frequent adjournments for cross examining witnesses even as the trial progressed uninterrupted with the 100th witness stepping into the box.

NEW DELHI: Indian Army chief Gen Deepak Kapoor claimed on Saturday that India had never been a threat to Pakistan. “‘India has never been a threat to Pakistan. India will be happy to see stability in Pakistan,” Kapoor said in Hyderabad when asked by journalists about requests to New Delhi to reduce forces on borders with Pakistan to allow Islamabad to deploy more troops on its western borders to fight the Taliban. “While putting [in] efforts to fight terror on its western border with Afghanistan, Pakistan should act …. [against] terror on its eastern border with India as well,” media reports quoted Kapoor as saying. Replying to another question, he said, “We are maintaining adequate forces to safeguard the territorial integrity of the nation and prevent infiltration from across the border.” app

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani said on Friday that New Delhi has still not provided records the Mumbai terror attacks that Islamabad is seeking. A meeting between Pakistani High Commissioner in India Shahid Malik and Interior Minister Rehman Malik discussed matters related to Indo-Pak relations, an investigation into the Mumbai attacks and the lone surviving gunman’s statement, at the Interior Ministry. Shahid briefed Malik on the latest information provided by India on the Mumbai terror attacks. It was decided that the FIA would carry forward investigations in light of the new information provided by India. The sources said the interior minister called on India to cooperate with Pakistan and provide necessary information.
